Our Main Thing

The Most Important Thing That Has Ever Happened To Me!
Everybody has a story! My story started out a little on the negative side but moved to become very positive. My mom always took wonderful care of me and is now a committed Christian woman, but our early years together were tough. My mom had married and divorced twice, but neither of these men was my biological father. This confusion in my family life may have spurred some rebellion in my early youth, and I made some very poor choices.
Then my mother met and married a Christian man, who adopted me and my little brother. We began to go to church with him. My new father and church loved me and told me about how God sent His only Son so we could have a relationship with Him. As a teenager, I realized that I was a sinner in need of a savior. I received the greatest gift that I have ever been offered. On that night, I turned away from my sins and asked Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior.
God's Son, Jesus Christ, is the most important person in my life, and pleasing Him is my objective. The passage of time has not diminished but only strengthened that desire. I live a very full life. I also now know that when this life ends--and each of our lives do--that I will be with the Lord forever in heaven.

How God's Story Can Become A Part of Your Story
1. Agree with God that you are a sinner and turn away from your sins.
The Bible tells us, "For all have sinned and fall short of God's glory" (Romans 3:23). "But God demonstrated His love for us, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
2. Believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord (boss or leader) and Savior of your life. Believe that Jesus' blood covers your sin, that Jesus died in your place, and that He rose from the dead to conquer death for you! God's Word tells us, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
3. Share your faith publicly and let everyone know that you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life! The Bible teaches, "That if you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13).
God will come into your life through a prayer like this:
Dear God, I know that I am a sinner, and I turn away from my sin
and ask that you forgive me for all my sins. I turn to Jesus Christ,
God's Son, who died on the cross in my place and rose again from the
dead on the third day. I ask Jesus Christ to come into my life and be my
Lord and Savior. Thank you for loving me, and I want to tell you
that I love you! In Jesus' name, Amen!
